Compost Stew by Mary McKenna Siddal and LMNO Peas by Keith Baker

Does the book world really need another alphabet book? Only if its one of these two! Keith Baker has written and illustrated one of the most charming books I've read in a long time. Who knew peas had so much personality? The tiny drawings lend themselves to cozy one on one reading as the detail requires much study...and a few inside jokes for grown-ups!
And the end leaves you (and the little one you are reading with) a philosophical moment...and no, it's not about peas on earth!

Mary McKenna Siddals, along with making the concept of composting accessible to young children, has made an alphabet book less mundane. Beautiful collages help reinforce the "eco" message of this clever rhyme. A great introduction to earth friendly living.
